Funkin' Friday: Feel the funk

It’s Friday and for most of us, it’s been a long week. What better way to kick off the weekend than with some music?

Starting today I plan on sharing some of my favorite songs with you. Hopefully that will help get you in the mood. If you are over the age of 25 you will remember and enjoy some of these songs right off the bat. Some of you young folks will need some time to truly appreciate them. Expect to see and hear rock, rap, funk, R&B, country and some stuff that will just make you say “What the F&*k is this?”

I am starting of with a classic. Tom Browne's "Funkin' for Jamaica" was released in the 80's (I think 1980 to be exact). It is one of my favorite songs of all time regardless of genre. It easily makes my Top 10.

"Funkin' for Jamaica" is really more of a jam session and that is what I like about it. It is basically a bunch of people hanging out and clowning around while playing music.

Now go and feel the funk...
