Now that I’ve had a couple of weeks to digest everything that went down in New Orleans during The National Association of Black Journalists conference I figure this would be a good time to share a few highlights. Here’s a look at what went down during the panels a.k.a. the daylight hours.

National Association of Black Journalists convention is about fun and equality for all but I have to admit that I have noticed an unofficial hierarchy. It's very similar to what you would find at a historically black college or university. Here’s a look at some of the people you will meet and what groups they have the most in common with.
There are more than a few people offering up tips for surviving this year's conference and even though I am far from an expert I figured I would five simple tips that have helped me over the years. Feel free to use them at NABJ or any conference you find yourself at.
After a two year absence, I am making my return on the National Association of Black Journalist’s annual convention. This year’s event is a chance for me to return to my home state and support my school.
The Department of Mass Communications at Southern University is hosting a reunion/reception for graduates and alumni of The Southern Digest. Current students can meet alumni and discuss possible mentoring and career opportunities. Alumni can find out how to support their department. And the department can showcase itself to a large crowd of professionals.
I’m looking forward to catching up with old friends and meeting the next generation of Jaguars.
